Kitara FC is looking to secure a first win under their new tactician Sam Simbwa when they host Lugazi FC in the FUFS Big League at Kigaaya P/S today (Thursday).
The third-placed side on the 16-teamed log has gone three games without a win under the new manager hence hampering their chase for promotion.
Coach Simbwa stated, “We have trained well since we returned from Jinja (when they played against Jinja North United) and we are up to the task.”
“We are so confident that we shall pick the win due to the preparations the team has made. Yes we have a few injuries but that will not stop us from taking it away,” he added.

Simbwa added that they have minor injuries to players like Hudson Atugondere and Abasi Kateregga are suspended by virtue of accumulated yellow cards.
In the reverse fixture, Kitara won 3-0 in Lugazi thanks to John Kisakye’s double and Moses Sseruyide’s effort and the hosts will be seeking a double against 8th-placed Lugazi.
The club’s fans have been furiously complaining about the bad performance but the administration has kept its trust and confidence in Simbwa hence giving him all the time to put the broken pieces right.
The Bunyoro-based side is two points behind League leaders NEC FC and one behind second-placed Mbarara City FC which puts on cards a thrilling title chance as the ague makes a final bend.
On Friday, NEC FC and Mbarara City FC face off in a top-of-the-table clash at Kakyeka Stadium.
